FAQs

What time is your service?

Our in-person worship begins at 10 am. The service is also streamed live on our Facebook Page so you can watch it later or be with us when you’re traveling

What does your service look like?

Our Sunday Worship includes live music and communion. Sing along to traditional hymns and contemporary Christian music.

Holy Communion: As United Methodists, we believe this is the Lord’s Table. Everyone is welcome. You do not have to be a member nor confirmed. Children are welcome.

Are my children welcome during the service?

Yes, we love kids! You’ll find a child-friendly activity space in front of the sanctuary. There is also a nursery next to the elevator across from the family bathrooms. (We have family bathrooms for your comfort.)

What do you offer for children on Sunday morning?

We include the children during Children’s Time to share the Lord’s message with them in an age-appropriate way.

What is RISE? What will my child do there?

RISE is Faith for kids! A program we share with First Lutheran Church, it’s available to children PreK-12th grade, including Confirmation class. Kids will learn the stories of the Bible, reenact the Scriptures, and we will always reinforce that God loves us, ALL of us.

RISE Family Meal: 5:30 p.m.

RISE (K-5th grades) 6:15 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

RISE UP (6th-8th grades) 6:15 p.m.- 7:45 p.m.

Location will alternate odd months at Le Sueur United Methodist and even months at First Lutheran Church.

Who is the United Methodist Church?

Founder of the Methodist Church, John Wesley, is attributed as saying, “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”

We believe Jesus Christ died and rose again to save us. We believe our faith is evident in our service to others. We have three simple rules:

Do no harm, do good, stay in love with God.

The United Methodist Church is a worldwide denomination that opens hearts, opens minds and opens doors through active engagement with our world. The mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Learn more about the United Methodist Church on their website.

Do I have to belong to your denomination to attend?

Not at all! Everyone is welcome at Le Sueur United Methodist Church.

Do you have to dress up to attend your worship service?

We are a casual and varied group. We wear everything from jeans to dresses. But let’s be honest: Jesus doesn’t care what you wear.

What kind of things do you do in your worship service?

We are a friendly group, so you’ll be greeted and offered Peace during the service. We share announcements, sing hymns, enjoy special music interludes, watch a video with a message, read and learn the lessons of the Bible, and take communion every week. Everyone is welcome at our Communion Table.

After the service, you are invited to join us for treats and coffee. Introduce yourself! We’d like to get to know you.

Am I welcome to take communion?

Yes! Everyone is welcome at God’s table, including children, guests, and friends of other denominations. Gluten-free elements are available upon request.

Who is your pastor?

Do I have to give to belong?

Or, give online at Vanco using desktop or here using mobile.

What kind of outreach is the church involved in?

Outreach is where our heart is. We are active in ministries locally, nationally, and internationally.

On a local level, we sponsor an annual School Supplies Giveaway and a community-wide Thanksgiving meal. We support the Le Sueur Food Shelf and partner with Adopt-a-Family programs at Christmas.

Regionally, we support the Mankato Salvation Army, the Emma Norton House, and the Blue Earth Nicollet County Human Society.

Nationally, we support UMCOR disaster relief efforts with financial donations and by assembling UMCOR Health Care Kits.

On a global level, we fund Zoe Empowers and the Ministires’ Baiwalla School and Farm in Sierra Leone. (You can read about their efforts here.) We also support Missionary Matthew Baker, of Overland Missions, working in Zambia, Africa, and Missionary and agricultural technology expert Mozart Adevu, working in Ghana, Africa.
